Pro Dive is a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Centre and is one of the largest dive training centres in South Africa. Not only do we operate charters & scuba diving training but have a large retail store, equipment service centre and travel office.

Scuba Diving as a Career 
The Career Development Programme is broken into 2 phases giving you the opportunity to experience the fun and adventure of diving in phase 1 & then to focus on developing your skills to become a diving professional in phase 2.

Phase 1: Master Scuba Diver Experience Programme (6weeks – 2months)

This is where the excitement and adventure begins!

By completing phase 1 you will have achieved the PADI Master Scuba Diver Programme which is the black belt in recreational diving. Not only will you have achieved the necessary skills to become a Rescue Diver, but you will have specialised in 5 areas of diving that interest you. Included in the package are 40 dives giving you valuable experience as a diver.

Phase 2: Professional Phase (2 months)

The professional phase is made up of the courses required to become a PADI Instructor, (one of the most highly recognised certifications in the diving industry), 40 dives and an overview of the various aspects of the diving industry as a whole e.g. Retail, Instruction, charter management, compressor operating, boat maintenance etc.

Equipment

For phase 1 there are rental options available however if you are considering diving as a career and participating in the professional phase it is essential to have your own equipment.

Career Development students qualify for special equipment discounts.

Accommodation

Accommodation is available in a furnished, 4 bedroom house which is located in close proximity to our training centre in Walmer and beach outlet at Hobie Beach. All the rooms are equipped with a bed, desk & cupboard (bedding to be provided).
Water, electricity is included & the house is serviced twice a week.
